Millie Bobby Brown and her husband Jake Bongiovi announced on social media they have welcomed their first baby together via adoption.
Brown 21, and Bongiovi, 23, wrote in a joint Instagram post on Thursday: “This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were 3. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi”
The couple began dating in 2021, and were married in May 2024. A larger celebration followed in Tuscany, Italy in Sept. 2024, officiated by Brownās āStranger Thingsā co-star Matthew Modine.
Brown spoke earlier this year about wanting to start a family with her husband, sharing during an appearance on the āSmartLessā podcast in March: āJake knows how important it is to me. Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find itās so important to start a family for me, personally. Itās a huge thing. Jake was like, āWe cannot do that until we get married,’ so that was his thing, and my thing was, I really want a family. I really want a big family. Iām one of four. Heās one of four. So it is definitely in our future. But, for me, I donāt see having your own child, you know, as really any different as in adopting.”
Brown added that her parents had their first child when they were 21 and 19, respectively, and sheās always wanted to follow suit: āItās been my thing since before I met Jake. Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.ā
