The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Thursday that third baseman Max Muncy has agreed to a two-year, $24-million contract extension that will keep Muncy with the club through 2025. The deal also includes a $10-million club option for 2026. The move guarantees the $14-million club option in the veteran slugger’s previous contract for next season.

The 33-year-old infielder has spent six of his eight major league seasons with the Dodgers after beginning his career with the Oakland Athletics in 2015. Ā He has been in the majors since 2018, earning two All-Star selections and helping L.A. capture a World Series title in 2020. Muncy had a .212/.333/.475 in the 2023 season, with 36 home runs and 105 RBI in 135 games, marking the most home runs and RBI he has racked up in a single season.
